‘Squid Game’ Sweeps SAG Awards

Netflix’s hit Korean series “Squid Game” swept this year’s U.S. Screen Actors Guild Awards, scooping three honors at a televised event in Santa Monica, California on Sunday.

The dystopian thriller won best stunt ensemble in a drama series, while Lee Jung-jae and Jung Ho-yeon won best actor and best actress for their roles.

Lee beat out Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin and Jeremy Strong of “Succession” and Billy Crudup of “The Morning Show.”

Jung was nominated along with Elisabeth Moss of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon of “The Morning Show” and Sarah Snook of “Succession.”

“Squid Game” was nominated in four categories including the top prize for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series, a first for a foreign-language show, but the prize went to HBO’s “Succession”.
