In regards to the documentary that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have on Netflix, Kate Middleton has been entirely mute; yet, it would seem that she is rather offended. And also, betrayed. A source has revealed to Us Weekly that Prince William, who is married to Kate Middleton, “isn’t intending to provide his side of the tale or overtly retaliate.” Instead, William is “remaining dignified” and “getting on with the job,” according to the source. But Kate “feels sad and betrayed that Harry would do this to her as well, particularly considering how close the two of them used to be to one another.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not spend a lot of time discussing Kate in their documentary; however, Meghan did make a veiled reference to the fact that Prince William and Kate Middleton did not like her effort to embrace them over a meal at Prince Harry’s Kensington Palace residence.

Even when Will and Kate came over, and it was the first time I met Kate, they came over for dinner, and I remember I was wearing torn jeans and I didn’t have any shoes on,” Meghan recounted. “I’ve always been a hugger, just as I was a hugger when I was younger. I had no idea it would be so shocking to a lot of people in the United Kingdom. I suppose that I began to get it pretty quickly that the same level of formality that was there on the exterior was also present on the inside.”
In the meanwhile, Harry made a statement in which he obliquely suggested that William felt “pressure” to marry Kate because she suited the model. He said:

“Even when Will and Kate came over, and I met her for the first time, they came over for dinner, I remember I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot. Like I was a hugger, I’ve always been a hugger. I didn’t realize that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits. I guess I started to understand really quickly that the formality on the outside carried through on the inside.”
